Hero. Legend. Good Bloke.
John Peel OBE, 1939 - 2004

Red Lick Records

Strumammy's First CD

Strumammy recorded their initial CD of three songs on 18th February 2001 at Lancaster Music Co-op. on 8-track- engineered and mixed by Ian Dicken.

Whitworth Afternoon (5.17)

Whitworth Afternoon was written by John . The lyrics were inspired by John’s frequent visits to the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, in particular an Andy Warhol print exhibited there.

Mudsharks (5.36)

Mudsharks was written by Brendan Cronin. The idea for the song came from a book about Zen Buddhism and from a poem by W B Yeats ‘The Host of Air’.

Feet First Landing (5.29)

Feet First Landing was written by Pete Quinn. The lyrics are about prophecy and the tension between reality and drama.
